E2 over 3000. Please guidance?

2006-08-16 02:10:14 AM
I just got a call from the not so polite doctor who told me that my E2
is over 3000 (would not give me the specific number so I left a message
with the nurse so that maybe she will call back with it). 11 follicles
and some smaller ones.
They have cut down my Follistim to 75 tonight and 150 in the morning
and I have to come in for another blood test at 8:30 am.
I am having a hard time trusting her so I need to hear your thoughts.
I will get to see the other doc. at 3:30 but by then I will have had
two extra doses of follistim. It would be horrible to have to cancel
this cycle since it was the only one we could pay for.
Please help? Am I at risk of having this cancel?

Unfortunately, yes, it's possible they may cancel the cycle for your
safety. BUT it seems that this happens when the levels are closer to
the 10,000 range...
Since I am a 'poor responder' to high amounts of the meds, I've
personally never dealt with OHSS before, but I found some sites online
for you:
www.ivf.com/ohss.html
www.ivf-infertility.com/ivf/standard/complications/ovarian_stimulation/ohss.php
www.guideline.gov/summary/summary.aspx
www.pregnancymd.org/ovarian-hyperstimulation-syndrome-ohss.htm
Saying a prayer that it isn't OHSS, and your cycle will continue without
any complications!
